Pleasant Valley Alaska B&B

Pleasant Valley Alaska Bed And Breakfast is an Alaskan paradise nestled in the hills outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. They are located about 30 miles from downtown Fairbanks in the little community of Two Rivers, Alaska. If you venture here for one of my trips you might want to spend a few extra days enjoying the heartland of Alaska with them. The have an excellent view of the Northern Lights, as you can see on their website from the link at the bottom of the page.

I'll be using them myself for 2 of my Glacial Kayak Fly Fishing Schools.

Pleasant Valley B & B is in the heart of the Chena River Valley. The Chena River and its tributaries offer great fishing for grayling, trout and even some salmon. There are also countless little lakes in the area , many of them stocked by Fish & Game with rainbow trout and similar species. We will be happy to point you to the right places and the right gear.
Petra Jennen is the owner/manager of Pleasant Valley B&B. Petra is native German and has lived in Alaska since 1999. All those years she has spent in Alaska's Interior loving every minute of it. Well, maybe not those minutes when it was 50 below. But it's all part of the experience!

Petra has run her own small business in the past and is on to new ventures with Pleasant Valley Bed & Breakfast. She has spent most of her time in Alaska working in the tourist industry , including visitor centers and will be able to share her expertise on how to best explore, discover, live and breathe Alaska!
Petra is an excellent cook and even better baker....influenced by her German roots as well as a desire to feed our bodies healthy food.
She also makes her own calendula salve with flowers grown on site, which is available for sale at the B&B , as well as some paintings, photographs and artwork from other local artisans.

Petra speaks fluent German and can answer all your questions in whichever language you prefer....English, German or Swabian.

Summers in Alaska are everyone's favorite! With 24 hour daylight from about mid May to mid July, we get to enjoy the sun a little more than usual. So do her vegetables in her big garden and green house.

They have several places with outside seating nestled in between flower gardens or tucked away under the porch. A perfect place for a lazy afternoon. Come to Alaska and enjoy our summer with them! The Chena River and its tributaries offer great fishing for grayling, char, pike and even some salmon.

There are also countless little lakes in the area, many of them stocked by Fish & Game with rainbow trout and similar species. Many lakes also contain pike which were placed illegally and feed on the ADFG stockers, so you can have a blast with them on the surface.    The Northern Lights are definitely their most favorite thing about winter in Alaska. It's an experience everyone should have at least once in their lives an we hope you come visit  us and have yours with us. They have excellent viewing opportunities on the property we are proud to share. Come and experience the North with them!

Pleasant Valley B & B is located amidst one of the most extensive trail systems in the Fairbanks area. Chena River State Recreation Area can be found just a few short miles from their location all the way out to the local hot springs, Chena Hot Springs Resort.
Chena Hot Springs Resort is only a short 30 minute drive from Pleasant Valley. A dip in the hot springs, which get as hot as 106F and vary daily in temperature, can be refreshing and warming at the same time if you try it at -30F ! Always a favorite at any temperature.

Every year in late February and March Fairbanks , Alaska falls under the spell of The World Ice Art Championship. Ice carvers and artists from all over the world come to Fairbanks to compete in their skill of making a block of ice look like an incredible work of art. Ice sculptures are backlit with colorful lights at night and are worth a second look after darkness falls.

Pleasant Valley Bed & Breakfast are able to offer dog sled rides and snowmachine tours through their good friends at the "3 Dog Night Hostel" in Salcha, Alaska. They are able to offer everything from a very short hour long sled dog tour to a half day tour and even a night tour with a chance to see the northern lights.
